WILL “ROC” GRIFFIN — BIO

Will “Roc” Griffin is a composer, pianist, keyboardist, and music producer whose work spans film, blues, pop, rock, R&B, funk, hip-hop, and jazz. With a career rooted in both performance and production, Griffin has collaborated with notable artists across multiple genres for decades.

One of his earliest major credits came as a keyboardist with Dr. Dre and the World Class Wreckin’ Cru in the late 1980s. He later produced and performed keyboards on the certified gold soundtrack for the 1993 film Judgment Night, featuring the title track collaboration between Faith No More and Boo-Yaa Tribe.

Griffin’s work with jazz legend Herbie Hancock marked a defining chapter in his career. He co-produced Hancock’s album Dis Is Da Drum, which received a Grammy nomination in 1996, and toured internationally as a keyboardist and programmer in support of the project.

He went on to produce and perform with blues artist John Lee Hooker Jr., musically directing multiple projects, two of which received Grammy nominations in 2005 and 2006.

Currently, Griffin performs with his band, The Will Roc Project, delivering dynamic live performances that reflect his signature blend of musical styles and influences.

In film, Griffin serves as a composer for director John W. Kim’s Reunion, winner of the Cinequest Audience Award and an official selection of the 2026 Beverly Hills Film Festival. He has also completed work on the television pilot The Urban Defender, co-written with Kim, featuring his original score.
